Since 1977, The Center for Wooden Boats has been a volunteer-powered organization. Today, over 800 volunteers contribute on a regular basis to support hands-on learning and access to the water. Volunteers help with virtually every aspect of CWB’s operations and lead many of its most mission-centric programs. Opportunities include:

  • Visitor Services

  • Livery

  • Boatshop

  • Sunday Public Sail

  • Sailing Instruction

  • Special Events

  • Office Assistance

  • Special Skills and more!

Join a Committee

Volunteers interested in long term volunteering opportunities and like to get behind the scenes in planning and development are encouraged to join the following committees:

  • Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival Committee

  • Marketing Working Group

  • Program Committee

  • Sail Repair Team and more!

Join us at Orientation to learn more or get started. Volunteer Orientations are held the 2nd Saturday of every month on the South Lake Union campus. Complete the online application before attending and additional details will be sent to you.
